Español: El Cementerio de Sad Hill es una obra de arquitectura cinematográfica levantada en los términos municipales de Contreras y Santo Domingo de Silos, en la provincia de Burgos, para la película Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo (El bueno, el feo y el malo). En el verano de 1966, el director Sergio Leone halló en la Peña de Villanueva y en el valle de Arlanza los escenarios adecuados para el rodaje de El Bueno, el Feo y el Malo. Tras el rodaje, el lugar permaneció abandonado durante 49 años hasta que en octubre de 2015 comenzaron los trabajos de recuperación del cementerio a manos de voluntarios de la Asociación Cultural Sad Hill. El empedrado central cubierto por una capa vegetal fue desenterrado durante meses y mediante una campaña de crowdfunding se financió la colocación de las cruces en su posición original. English: The Sad Hill Cemetery is a work of cinematographic architecture built in the municipalities of Contreras and Santo Domingo de Silos, in the province of Burgos, for the film Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo (The Good, The Bad and The Ugly). In the summer of 1966, director Sergio Leone found the appropriate locations for filming in the Arlanza valley. After filming, the place remained abandoned for 49 years until recovery work on the cemetery began in October 2015 at the hands of volunteers from the Sad Hill Cultural Association. The central paving covered by a layer of vegetation was unearthed for months and a crowdfunding campaign financed the placement of the crosses in their original position. |
