Oerlis:It Muzyk Giet troch de Buorren

Was ist richtig?

@Knottel: I do understand German, and if I really had to, I could probably make myself understood in your language, but it has been decades since I've last written anything in German, so it would probably be one grammatical mistake after the other, and I'd rather not subject you to that particular form of torture. As for the song, my source is Fryslân Sjongt, which could be described as the national book of folk songs of the Frisians in the Netherlands. According to it, Paulus Folkertsma wrote the lyrics and composed the melody as well. I've looked at your source, the Frysk Muzyk Argyf, and you note correctly that it says Waling Dykstra wrote the text. So one of the sources must be wrong, I mean, they can't both be right.
On the Frysk Muzyk Argyf page, it says the song is titled De Tsjerne and the subtitle is It Mesyk Giet troch de Buorren. At the bottom of the page there are 2 half-page scans. Looking at the second one, it seems to me that there we have found the mistake: De Tsjerne and It Mesyk Giet troch de Buorren are obviously two different songs, that nothing to do with eachother apart from being written on the same page. You can also see that Dykstra is noted as having written the text of De Tsjerne, but not of It Mesyk Giet troch de Buorren. So, there you are. @Ieneach fan 'e Esk: This sounds reasonable. Thank you for this valuable hint. --Knottel (oerlis) 27 sep 2018, 18.32 (CEST)Beäntwurdzje
