Kopergravure van een gestrande potvis (3 februari 1598) door de Nederlandse graveur Gilliam van der Gouwen (ca. 1640, Antwerpen? - in of na 1720) naar een tekening van Hendrik Goltzius en een gravure van Jakob Matham uit 1598. Deze afbeelding was meer dan 200 jaar de toonaangevende afbeelding van een potvis.
Deutsch: Kupferstich des niederländischen Künstlers Gilliam van der Gouwen nach einer Zeichnung von Hendrik Goltzius und einem Kupferstich von Jakob Matham aus dem Jahre 1598. Abbildung eines am 3. Februar 1598 zwischen Scheveningen und Katwijk in Holland gestrandeten Pottwals. Dieses Bild hat für über 200 Jahre das Bild der Menschen vom Pottwal entscheidend geprägt. - Originaltitel: "Een Walvisch. English: The engraving by William van der Gouwen shows a 21.3 m (70 ft) long whale, which stranded on the Dutch coast between Scheveningen and Katwijk on 3 February 1598.
