A fiberglass mold of a box cardboard bas relief statue made shortly after the 3D characteristic of the Shroud was first discovered in 1978. Location is the Cadet Catholic Chapel at the US Air force Academy. People involved with creation of the 3D model include STURP researchers John 'Dee' German (electrical engineering professor at USAFA), John Jackson (physics professor of physics at USAFA), Eric Jumper (aeronautical engineering professor at USAFA) and Kenneth Stevenson (graduate of USAFA and English professor at USAFA).
